Star: Henry Cavill is a toxic bachelor who hates to date opinionated women

WB Studios Presentation At CinemaCon 2017

Is Henry Cavill a “toxic bachelor”? Is that his thing? I’ll admit that I’ve never really figured out Cavill’s thing. I liked it when he was with Gina Carano, because I think she’s a badass and I respected him for being with her. But then came the Kaley Cuoco debacle. And then he dated a 19-year-old university student named Tara King. And so I mostly just feel like Cavill doesn’t really know what he wants out of a relationship, nor does he really have a “type.” Maybe the “toxic bachelor” label covers it. Anyway, Star Magazine claims that Cavill’s big problem is that he’s a caveman who doesn’t want women to express any thoughts. Sure.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s… a toxic bachelor! Those in Henry Cavill’s inner circle are shooting down rumors that Cavill is secretly gay, instead confession that his single status is down to his arrogant attitude.

“Henry is hot, but he’s a bad boyfriend. He spends every date talking about himself,” says a buddy. “He’s like a real-life Gaston from Beauty and the Beast!”

And while he may play Superman, friends say that he’s not exactly after a real-life Lois Lane.

“He doesn’t want a woman with a career and ditches them if they start expressing their own opinions,” adds the source, pointing to Henry’s romance with then-19-year-old Tara King last year. “Tara was so young and in awe of him, but even she got fed up.”

Is this it? I still feel like there’s something we’re not getting about Henry Cavill, but I don’t think this is it. Like, the Tara King thing was definitely an eye-opener, but was the problem that Henry can’t handle a woman with opinions and a career? Or was it that, like, she was a college student and he was a 30-something movie star? And the thing is… in interviews, Cavill really doesn’t come across badly. He’s self-aware, he’s a bit nerdy, he’s thoughtful. I find it more likely that Cavill is not so much a toxic bachelor as a formerly overweight nerd who can’t believe that he gets to date the “cool girls” now. Like, he’s stuck in a high-school mentality. And that’s definitely a problem, it’s just a different problem altogether.
