Below is the “music video” that Gwyneth Paltrow has deigned to take part in to promote her film, Country Strong, where she plays a character loosely based on Britney Spears’ weave. I think! No, Goopy is playing a washed-up, alcoholic country singer whose husband, Tim McGraw, is too busy boning her All About Eve-esque, younger, hotter replacement, Leighton Meester. Kind of like Kate Bosworth too? Low blow? Anyway, Goopy has a Brit-Brit twang, and she’s gonna use it, y’all. She’s also going to perform in Capri pants and flat-ironed hair for the video, because Goopy would never deign to adhere to Big Hair and Pageant Dresses (country standards).

I will give Gwyneth credit for having a strong voice. She’s a solid vocalist. But she’s not half the singer she thinks she is. I also think the studio probably wanted to do this music video more than Goopy – although I will f-cking die if they make her go on CMT or some country music awards show to promote her film. I would LOVE that. So much.
