Christina and her new boyfriend, Matt Rutler
Here’s an amusing story from the print edition of US Weekly about how Christina Aguilera’s estranged husband, Jordan Bratman, is staying put in the couple’s mansion and refusing to move out. Christina announced her separation from Jordan in mid October of last year. She took up with her new boyfriend, a set assistant she met while filming Burlesque (while she was still married) a hot minute later. We heard in late October that Christina was staying in hotels because Bratman wouldn’t move out of their home, presumably because he wanted to be near their son Max, three. Fast forward three months later and Bratman is still at their family home, while Christina has moved her new boyfriend in to help her stagger to bed after their drunken nights out. I’m pretty sure that Christina still lives in the mansion that was shown on The Osbournes, as she purchased it from the family in 2007. That’s a big house but I don’t think it has two kitchens or anything.
A source tells Hot Stuff [US Weekly] that [Christina Aguilera], 30, and new boyfriend Matthew Rutler, 25, are living under the same roof with her ex, Jordan Bratman – because he refuses to move out! “It’s gotten really awkward,” the Aguilera pal says of life at the $11.5 million Beverly Hills mansion, where the exes look after their son, Max, 3. “Jordan won’t leave the house!” The singer is so distraught that she broke down while knocking back vodka sodas and venting about the situation at L.A.’s the Dime nightclub January 25. “She was drinking and crying uncontrollably, talking about Jordan and the house,” says a witness. “She was working herself into more and more of a state.” Adds another insider, “She strong and wants to be there for Max. But all this is very stressful for her.”

Poor Christina. She cheated on her husband, moved her jump off into the house, and now her husband won’t leave! What’s a drunk rich girl to do? I know, she could sell the house (probably at a loss) and downsize – if the house is in her name, that is. There are probably some complicated legal issues that are keeping her from being able to kick Jordan out. She could rent another place nearby and move there with her son. I don’t know whose side I’m on in this whole mess, but I’m inclined to have some grudging respect for Bratman for staying put. (There are rumors that he abused Christina, and if that’s true it’s despicable. Sources say that never happened though.)
